The PCCU was initially registered as the Police Co-operative Credit Union (St. Christopher & Nevis) Limited on the 20th January, 1984 under the Co-operative Societies Act No.2 of 1995
and as the other three credit unions was registered under the Co-operative Societies Act, No. 31 of 2011.
The PCCU emerged from humble beginnings in 1984 under the leadership of Mr. Stanley V. Franks and Mr. Felix A. Hodge (Cofounders).
The Society was intended solely to serve Police Officers.
However, in 1989 because of its positive impact and potential, within five (5) years of operation, its services were extended to Prison Officers, regular Fire and Rescue Services, regular St. Kitts and Nevis Defense Force Officers’ spouses and Children of serving Police Officers’ and Auxiliaries.
